TEACHING ON “DAY TO DAY PRACTICE OF BUDDHISM AND A LONG LIFE EMPOWERMENT (TSHEWANG)

At the invitation of Tamang Society of Greater Washington (TSGW), our own Tamang holy guru Venerable Tulku Losang Namgyal Rinpoche will be in Northern Virginia to offer a Teaching on “Day to Day Practice of Buddhism and a Long life Empowerment (Tshewang). We are blessed to have a precious and holy guru like him in our own society to continuously turn the wheel of Dharma so that we all have an opportunity to see the light of life and hope of enlightenment. As many of you already know, Rinpoche was recognized as a reincarnation of the former abbot of Swayambhu Monastery, Lama Maila Kagi Tamang, the abbot of the Old Tamang Monastery Trust of Swayambhu (Dubkhang Chhoeling Monastery) by H.H. 16th Gyalwa Karmapa  and H.H. 14th Dalai Lama. He received the transmission of Guru Yoga and the precepts of a fully ordained monk from H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama in 2003. He also received initiations, transmissions and explanations of the Buddha Dharma, secret treasures, tantras and mantras from the H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama, Kyabje Kirti Tsenshab Rinpoche, Geshe Lama Konchog, Lama Yeshe, Kyabje Lama Thupten Zopa Rinpoche, Khensur Rinpoche Geshe Lama Lundrup Rigsel, Kabje Denma Locho Rinpoche( Dharmasala), Kyabje Geshe Senge (Mongolia), Kyabje Serme Khenchu Dhakpa Rinpoche, Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Kyabje Chobgye Thrichen Rinpoche, Kyabje Sakya Trizin Gongma Rinpoche, Kyabje Jyangche Losang Tulku Rinpoche, and many other high lamas.

Rinpoche was formally enthroned by Tshyorten Tashi Tamang Monastery, Jorpati, Kathmandu, Nepal as of February 2010 and Kopan Monastery, Kathmandu Nepal as of August 2010. He is also the patron and founder of the Namgyal Rinpoche Foundation which was established to promote Buddha Dharma awareness and improve the social and spiritual outcomes for Nepal. Recently, Rinopche has been tirelessly mobilizing all the available resources and volunteers through NR Foundation and Kopan Monastery to rescue, provide relief and rebuild to the recent earthquake victims of Nepal. In 1998, he established the Buddhist Awareness Center (BAC) which is also involved in promoting Buddha Dharma and helping the recent earthquake victims.
